Scenic Hot Cocoa Cruise Coeur d’Alene

Scenic Hot Cocoa Cruise Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in the winter

Scenic Hot Cocoa Cruise Coeur d’Alene

Nothing is more iconic about Coeur d’Alene than the lake. When people ask why we love this little town so much that we will endure 3 months of snow to live here, I always tell them how lucky we are to live so close to the water. Even when you can’t swim in it, there is something so soothing about hearing the waves and looking out to the snow-capped mountains on the other side.

My personal favorite way to see the lake is on a boat, and this winter you can! Every Friday through Sunday in January, February, and March, scenic hot cocoa cruises will take you out to see Coeur d’Alene in the best way possible. Warm up with the purchase of a hot cocoa bar (spiked options for the adults!) and enjoy the views on this 90-minute ride. Sit inside where it is warm and cozy or adventure up to the top deck to get a 360-degree view of the lake and downtown. Cruises depart at 12:30 and 2:30 pm from The Floating Boardwalk to the east of the CDA Resort. Visit www.cdacruises.com/hot-cocoa-cruises/ to purchase tickets and view the adult hot cocoa menu.

Scenic cruises are a favorite family activity for your first time in CDA or your 100th time. With the cold weather, all is made better with hot coca aboard.

CDA On Ice – Ice Skating in Coeur d’Alene

Ice Skating in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in January or February. People having fun.

CDA On Ice

Ice Skating in Coeur d’Alene

One of the best things about winter in CDA is all the activities there are to do. With the cold setting in, one of our favorite activities is back – ice skating! In the heart of downtown Coeur d’Alene, an ice skating rink is built each winter to help people enjoy the colder months. Come together with locals and visitors alike to enjoy the music, lights, and view of the lake at CDA On Ice.

There are a few things to know before you go. Tickets must be purchased in order to skate. Ages 3-12 years are $14 and ages 13 and up are $18 for a 90-minute session. Sessions are pre-scheduled time slots in which you can skate. If you show up in the middle of a pre-scheduled time slot, you can still pay to skate for the remainder of the session but will still have to pay full price. Spectators coming to watch are not charged for admission. Anyone skating does need to sign a waiver so we highly recommend showing up early to get that filled out. To purchase tickets visit tickets.cdaonice.com

There is a food truck on site that serves hot cocoa, hot dogs, pizza, donuts, and more! Igloos are also available for rent and include a fireplace heater, seating for 8 or 10, and loaded hot cocoa. Whether you are in an igloo or out on the ice, you are sure to enjoy your night!
